Hello,

We’re excited to announce that members from various organizations have joined together to create a community-wide Christmas food and toy hamper program this year, called Holiday Hampers Quesnel. Organizations and community members include Coral Byrd, New Life Church, North Cariboo Seniors’ Council, Northstar Church, Nourish Food Bank (CMHA), and Two Rivers Church. We welcome other interested groups to join the conversation and planning.

Coral Byrd has done a phenomenal job in the past few years with the Holiday Food and Toy Drive. We will support the expansion of her model and pool all resources together. Hamper registration will be open to all community members in need and offered at GreenHope Society and Nourish Food Bank. Registration dates will be announced soon. We’re writing because we are need of your help with the following:

• A large empty space in the city centre, offered as an in-kind donation (approx. 1500 square feet), preferably with easy exterior access and ground level, from November 1 – Dec 31. We’re actively looking but if you know of a great space, please let us know!

• Volunteers! We will have various volunteer opportunities ranging from 2 – 4-hour shifts.

• Your help to raise cash, food and/or toys. We will assign a theme to each participating group, such as breakfast, toiletries, or Christmas dinner. You’ll be encouraged to organize your own fun way to raise

  funds and items within your group. We can provide social media graphics, posters and messaging to keep a clear and consistent voice, community wide.

 

​The deadline to submit donations is Dec 8th. 100% of donations will remain in Quesnel for Christmas hampers.Please contact Coral Byrd or Jennifer Reed if you’re interested in participating. On behalf of our Holiday Hampers Quesnel Organizers, thanks you for your kind attention.
